Who We Are

KLA Schools of Sweetwater offers quality childcare and preschool education in Austin, West Austin, Lakeway, Bee Cave, Sunset Valley, and Spicewood. We are located in the heart of Texas hill country, off SH 71 and Bee Creek Road. Our school, which serves children ages 2 months through Pre-kindergarten, and offers after school and Summer Camp options for children ages 6-12 years old, will provide a unique learning environment that is based on the Reggio Emilia approach.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which originated in Italy after WWII, children are strong, capable, and rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them potential and curiosity that drives learning.

Our emergent curriculum provides children with the tools and opportunities to experience their own discoveries and learning. Children participate actively in the learning process, through classroom discussions and activities that are based on topics of their interest. We offer children the space to explore their ideas and interests and ask questions in meaningful ways.

Like Loris Malaguzzi, the founder of the Reggio Emilia philosophy, KLA Schools of Sweetwater advocates for every child’s right to quality education.

KLA Schools of Sweetwater is a proud member of the North American Reggio Emilia Alliance .

Through this approach, children are given tools and opportunities to experience their own discoveries and learning. Our emergent curriculum takes shape from classroom discussions, assemblies, and the interest of the children; this way the children learn to be active participants in the learning process. Additionally, children develop the skills needed to explore their ideas, interests, and questions in a meaningful way.

Our program offers care for children from 8 weeks through Private Kindergarten as well as a special School Age Program. Learn More.

We explore endless possibilities of educating the whole child through all languages of expression, not just within the classrooms, but in each area of our school.

MindfulnessMindfulness
Beyond academics, we focus on building social-emotional intelligence through real-world experiences. Children immersed in our environment gain self-confidence, self-regulation, superior critical-thinking abilities, empathy, and invaluable problem-solving techniques.

Atelier Art Atelier
The Atelier, or Art Studio, allows children to creatively interpret and express their thoughts and ideas through different media. An Atelierista, a teacher with a background in Art, works with the lead teachers to weave in current classroom topics to extend the learning experience for children.

STEM AtelierSTEM Atelier
An engaging addition to our program, children extend upon their STEM experiences in this specialized environment. Here, opportunities are presented for children to further research the concepts of science, technology, engineering and math. Through exploration, problem solving, and collaboration, the possibilities are endless!

Physical DevelopmentPhysical Development
With more than 17,000 sq. ft. of outdoor space, learning extends outside of the classroom. Our playground is housed with natural and organic equipment and structures which, not only develop and strengthen gross motor skills, but also stimulates a child’s imagination and creativity.

Testimonials From Other KLA Schools

  • When we first toured the school we knew KLA was top notch and nicer than any other school hands down that we had visited. The classrooms are large, bright and beautiful which was really important to us. Our daughter has adjusted to attending school better than I ever would have imagined! She basically flew out of my arms in the morning after just two days of starting. Her teachers are wonderful. Everyone is so welcoming and involved with the process and child. We feel thrilled to have our child attending KLA Schools!

    – Mandee B.

This is due to the environment at KLA and his teachers and the staff. I appreciate the updates every day and hearing about everything he is doing! KLA has been a wonderful home away from home for my son.
